MacGyver meets James Bond. The adventures in these books are just beyond
belief and I guess that's what makes them so good. They carry you away. I
haven't read many of the Dirk Pitt novels and certainly haven't read them in
order. This one had a real personal twist at the end. I give it a 4 out of
5.
Happy reading,

Hi: I would agree with you about this book, a great escape read. I've read a few of the Dirk Pitt novels, but not in order and it was neat to see Dirk with a family, even though the children are full-grown.Only in books could people survive the ventures they went through, but that's what makes them a good escape read.
Good Review, Texas Red! Cussler's adventure books are such fun! I've read most of the Dirk Pitte, NUMA Files, books, and one of the "Origon Files" books, none of the series in order; it's ok; they can stand alone.
Yah, the adventures are beyond belief and forumlaic, but, my advice is, Lighten up and just enjoy them. I'm hooked! LOL.
I wonder what basis there is for the Trojan War history, as recounted in Cussler, being a Celtic affair, rather than Greek and Turkish? It's certainly a new twist. I admit: Metals being the object of all the fighting is more plausable to me than that a Spartan woman as the object.
